Community Guidelines

GENERAL COMMUNITY REMINDERS

Green Lake is a beautiful natural setting. In addition, the quiet and relaxing atmosphere of our neighborhood provides a unique quality of life. Please be respectful of the following:

Access to South Park, Griffin Park and the Community Swim Dock

Our parks and docks are important parts of the Diamond Park community. They provide opportunities to experience natural beauty, recreation, and social activity. To that end, members who are current with their dues who live on the lake (riparian owners) and those who live off the lake (non-riparian owners) may enjoy both parks and the community portions of the docks, such as the swim dock. Importantly, every member has the responsibility to care for them through the payment of annual dues. Together we should be good stewards of these treasures in our community. Thank you in advance for keeping our parks clean and safe! Enjoy!

Association Dues / Road Fees

Fees received from the community go towards the cost of running the DPPOA, a registered Michigan corporation–made up of ALL Diamond Park property homeowners. This income allows the Association, a non-profit entity, to pay for insurances, road repairs and maintenance, park upkeep, property taxes, postage and filing fees. Everyone living within the bounds of the Association is responsible for costs incurred by the corporation (see Association boundary map in the community booklet). Our community was incorporated in 1945. 76 years ago! We appreciate that you pay the dues and road fees each summer and we bless and thank you—over and over again–tirelessly! (We will never grow tired of thanking you!)

Parking

No parking is allowed on the grassy areas within Griffin Park or South Park. We have expanded the number of parking spaces in South Park for use by current members wanting to access the marina or simply enjoy the view.

Absolutely no parking is allowed within South Park or Griffin Park boundaries. No motorcycles. No vehicles. Do not park on roads such that it limits passage by other cars.

Speed Limits

The posted speed limit on the private roads within DPPOA is 14 mph. Slow down. Drive safely. Be watchful for pedestrians, pets, and wildlife.

It is illegal to burn any construction materials and toxic wastes.

Grand Traverse County has strict regulations regarding the use of fireworks during and around holidays—very specific times and dates. Please visit their website for specific ordinance restrictions.
