Important decisions are often made at the Annual General Meeting (AGM) in August. Voting members are also encouraged to put forth their ideas for improvements to our community.

DPPOA COMMUNITY DOCKS

Until early 1980, members of DPPOA were using South Park’s water access for private docks and boat access. It was crowded and unsafe. Liability issues and fear of further development of the park foreshore led the association to regulate the use of the South Park. Eventually, the association installed a community dock system for boating and swimming to give access to the greatest number of members and to eliminate all personal watercraft and boats from the shoreline.

Swim Dock: The swim dock is available to all paid association members and their visiting guests. Please be aware there is no lifeguard on duty at any time. You swim at your own risk. All children (16 and under) must be accompanied by a responsible adult at all times. Please use common sense when using this area. The water is shallow so no diving allowed. The Association takes no responsibility for personal property or for ensuring the safety of members and their guests while using the swim dock.

Marina: The boat dock is for use of boat owners who have paid the access fee to use the marina and have rented a slip on the dock. Slips are rented on a yearly basis and the rental is renewable as long as the boat owner is current in paying the DPPOA yearly fees and dues. There are a limited number of slips available and there typically is a wait list. Please contact any board member to be placed on the wait list should you desire to have a slip during the summer season. The Association takes no responsibility for personal property or for ensuring the safety of members and their guests while using the boat dock.

Neither dock is to be used for fishing or for mooring boats.

Boat Storage: DPPOA allows boats to be stored in Griffin Park over the winter for a small fee. Boats must be placed as far back as possible (closest end to Diamond Park Road). Please inform a board member if you wish to store your boat. All boats must be removed by May 30th.

The fee to store a boat for the winter is $50.00. (Subject to vary.)
